There’s a big surprise as PS5 release date and price just leaked
While the PS5’s launch gets closer with no solid information from Sony on its price or release date, it’s only expected that semi-reliable leakers will step in to give information.
The newest educated guess pegs the PS5’s launch date in November and its price about $500, no vast revelations there. What’s exciting about this alleged leak is that the PS5 might release in Sony’s native Japan one week before everywhere else in the world, as well as the United States, China, and Europe.

Plus: PS5 pre-order date just leaked, and it’s nearly here
Information coming out from Chinese tech news site MyDrivers, as made known by PlayStation enthusiast site Push Square. MyDrivers refers to an “expert,” who told the site that the PS5 will launch on November 14 in Japan, but on November 20 in other regions. The expert also provided a complete chart, which tells how much both versions of the PS5 will be available, as well as a range of launch accessories and a game.
PS5 prices
MyDrivers lists the PS5 Blu-ray version at $500, while the PS5 Digital version will be much cheaper $400. A DualSense Controller will be priced at $60, as will a PS5 HD camera. Users can also buy a media remote control for $30, including a vertical stand for $25. The accessory prices all appear more or less in procession with accessories from preceding PlayStation launches, attuned for price increases.
The only game listed for purchase is Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which will cost $40. That appears to be in line with earlier “standalone expansion” games, as PS4 games in a comparable vein, such as Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, launched at the same price.
PS5 pre-order date
MyDrivers listed two other points of awareness. One is that PS5 pre-orders will commence September 9, as this date celebrates the 25th anniversary of the PS1’s release in North America. The other is that the next God of War game will be out by 2022, which looks like a long time to wait, however is possibly not unfair, given how long the preceding game took to be developed.
The odds of the PS5 launching in Japan a week untimely don’t appear unfathomable, but it would go in opposition to past patterns a bit. The PS4 came to North America and Europe in late 2013, but didn’t appear in Japan until months afterward in February of 2014.
It’s imperative to note that as the MyDrivers details have been making the rounds in many popular Western and Asian news, there’s nothing to support these reports.
Still, the November 20 release date and $500 price tips are circulating, so if you’re interested where they came from, now you know. We’ll update you at Wapmastazone on the official Sony feeds as soon as we confirm it.
