At Apple’s “One More Thing” event the company revealed its next generation of the desktop operating systems called macOS Big Sur to begin rolling out on all compatible Mac from November 12. All users who want to upgrade to the latest macOS Big Sur can download the beta version. At the event the tech giant as well launched three new Mac models; the Macbook Pro 13-inch MacBook Air and Mac Mini powered by Apple’s in-house ARM-based M1 chipset.
macOS Big Sur is a huge and vital software release for Mac users by Apple as it allows support for the Apple Silicon-based Macs plus the recently launched MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13-inch, and the Mac Mini. The most recent macOS version as well arrives with support for universal apps which are mainly built to operate on the new Apple Silicon and also the Intel x86 based Macs. Apple made it known that Big Sur will also support iOS and iPadOS apps natively.

How to Update your Mac to macOS Big Sur
To check for the update:
- Click on the Apple logo to be found at the top left corner of your MacBook’s screen.
- Then click on the About option.
- Then go ahead and click on the Check for updates option.
Please note that, if there’s an update available for you it will show up and if there’s no update yet for your MacBook you should follow the above steps again. Once the update is available just go ahead and click on the install option.
