As usual, Apple normally announces new hardware and all-new iPhone listings however this time around; we might see just an event date statement. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg tweeted that he is looking forward to Apple to make an announcement this week concerning the iPhone launch event for later this month.
I wouldn’t get too excited about rumors of new Apple products appearing this week. More likely I think: an announcement of the upcoming (of course virtual) September iPhone/Apple Watch event.

The tweet came after Jon Prosser, a well-known YouTuber and tipster, claimed that Apple has scheduled a press release for September 8th at 9:00 AM EST but is not “locked” yet. This means there could still be a change int the date and time which he said he would keep an eye on. Nevertheless, the tweet got many of Apple fans excited as anticipation is that the press release is for the latest product launch.
Apple press release is currently scheduled for Tuesday (September 8) at 9:00am EST — though, I should note that it’s not locked in until the press has been briefed, day of.
I’ll tweet early that morning to update you if it changes.

It is important to note that the rumors are merely based on an earlier leak shared by Prosser where he alleged that the new iPad and Apple Watch would be made official in September. His most recent tweet on the press release time does not identify its purpose which as per Gurman is not anything but just an announcement for the real launch event. It goes without saying that as and what time the event takes place, it is going to be an online-only event just like the way WWDC 2020 turned out.
Additionally, we should keep in mind that even though iPhone 12 lineups are made official in September, it is doubtful to go on sale before October. Several rumors even hint that the models will be made available to buy in two stages. The standard iPhone 12 models will go on sale before the iPhone 12 Pro variants.
