The 12-inch MacBook is rumored to be first to come with the Apple’s ARM CPU

Following a rumor coming from workers in Apple’s supply chain, the smallest laptop from the MacBook family, the 12-inch MacBook, will return this year with Apple’s fresh ARM-based chip. It makes sense for the 12-inch MacBook to be the first of its kind as it was motivated by Intel’s low-powered Core Y-series chips.

Formerly, Ming-Chi Kuo assumed that any of the 13 or the 24-inch iMacs might be the first Macs with Apple’s in-house chips. Apparently, the new details coming straight from TSMC as its Apple’s sole dealer of Apple’s A-series chipsets. It’s believed that foundry is no more making chips for Huawei and will now be able to easily house Apple’s desires.

The source also included that the forthcoming A14 Bionic chip that’ will be used in the iPhone 12 family and also applied to iPads as A14X Bionic will make it to this year’s 12-inch MacBook also. This means the A14X Bionic silicon will be powering up the MacBook as well.

This would raise the MacBook’s performance rather a bit but more prominently, it would bring exceptional battery life. Apple guarantees something down the lines of 15 to 20 hours on a single charge.

Please note this would be the first generation of MacBook to transit and the remaining of the MacBook listings, the 13-inch, 15-inch, and 16-inch – will switch its CPUs for ARM-based ones in two years time.
